Learning to speak like a native is not as hard as you think. Take it step-by-step. Practice is key!
5 tips to speak like a native:
1. Memorize sentences: Remember phrases or full sentences.
You need to know how to use the words rather than just knowing what it means. Stories or life situations makes learning more fun and interesting.
2. Listen, listen, and listen: Listen to English everyday. It doesn't have to be long. 10~15 minutes a day (when you are commuting to work or doing the house chores).
Listen to the radio, news, or watch a video (with English subtitles).
3. Use Synonyms to energize your English:
Synonyms are words that share meanings with other words. Learning synonyms is necessary to grow your English vocabulary. You can express yourself in more interesting ways.
4. Use fillers like "like:
Filler words can be an English learner's best friends. They are words with no meaning. They’re used, like, literally all the time. If you feel stuck on finding the right words to say,
5. Don't be afraid to speak:
Most importantly, be confident with yourself no matter what your English level is. It's ok to make mistakes. Mistakes are a natural and important part of learning. Practice making mistakes!
