Do you know what this food is called?
Many of my students did not know the names of these food which are quite common in America.
If you plan to visit America, you should become familiar with the following:
Taco: fried tortilla that is folded or rolled and stuffed with a mixture (as of seasoned meat, cheese, and lettuce)
Nachos: a dish of tortilla chips topped with melted cheese and often also other savory toppings
Guacamole: a Mexican avocado-based dish that is used as a dip. The word "guacamole" translates to "avocado sauce.
Tortilla: thin flatbread made from corn or wheat used to make tacos and quesadillas
Salsa: a tomato-based dip for tortilla chips, or is used as a condiment served along with dishes such as a burrito
Tortilla chips: a snack food made from corn tortillas, which are cut into a triangular-shape and then deep-fried
Salsa is so easy to make at home! In this lesson, we talk about different American food and share about American culture. You won't get confused with ordering food in America, especially Mexican food.
