Do you like going on adventures? I love traveling and going on adventures. Taking a rest for now though due to the COVID-19 pandemic (click here to learn more words about the coronavirus).
Here's a list of words related to travel and vacation:
Wanderlust (wander + lust): someone who has a strong desire to travel (ME!!)
Travel Blogger: someone who travels around the world collecting material for writing about their travel experiences.
Globetrotter (globe + trotter): a person who travels regularly or frequently to countries all over the world.
Nomad: a person who does not stay long in the same place; a wanderer.
Wanderer: a person who travels aimlessly (no goal or destination).
Staycation (stay + vacation): a holiday that you take at home or near your home rather than traveling to another place
Microadventure (micro + adventure): an adventure that is short, simple, local, cheap – yet still fun, exciting, challenging, refreshing and rewarding.
Many of the words introduced above are "compound words". Compound words are formed when two or more words are put together to form a new word with a new meaning.
For example, wanderlust is wander and lust combined together.
Wander (v.): walk or move in a leisurely or aimless way.
Lust: feeling a strong desire for someone or something, especially of a sexual nature
