Check the medical kit and make sure you have the supplies ready just in case (like bandages)
Buy instant noodles
Stock up on snacks. Buy a lot of them!
Tape up your windows in case there are strong winds

Part 1: Tropical depression Mitag (米塔) intensified in the waters off the east coast of the Philippines, becoming a tropical storm.
intensify: to make intense or more intensive = strengthen
Tropical cyclone: tropical depression < tropical storm < typhoon < super typhoon
Part 2: The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) has expanded its sea and land warnings to 12 counties and cities in Taiwan as Tropical Storm Mitag has intensified into a typhoon.
