Don't know how to prepare for your university interview? Many of my students struggle with the most important part: having a professional introduction in English. Here's an article to help you: making a self-introduction

Other than the introduction, here are the most common questions asked during an university interview:
***Important to keep in mind***You need to convince the school that they should accept you and WHY they should? >>Talk about how you can contribute >>link it with your personality/goals/passions/interests.

1. Something about yourself
What do you like to do in your spare time? ↪ I like to _________ and ________ in my spare time. I like to _______ because ____________. (explain what it is you like about this hobby and try to mention skills you have learned which can be used at university)
How would your friends describe you? (personality) ↪ My friends would describe me as _______, _______, and ________. I am _________. (talk about one of your personalities and give examples to show that personality trait; Good personalities to use: motivated; a natural leader; a good collaborator)
Homework: Practice talking about your passions, hobbies, and interests. You can discuss what inspires you or what your friends like about you. Be specific. Make yourself memorable!

2. Something about your course/university:
Why are you interested in this university? ↪ I am interested in this university because ___________.
Why do you want to major in ______? ↪ I want to major in _______ because __________.
Homework: research about your course and the university BEFORE you go to the interview. Know the course syllabus + think about what particularly interests you about the course
3. Something about your personal statement
Homework: Make sure you read over your personal statement.
4. Something about your current school
What do you enjoy most about school? ↪ What I enjoy the most about school is _________ because __________.
What frustrates you most about it? ↪ What frustrates me the most about school is _________ because ___________.
Homework: Think about what you are doing in the school now that can benefit the university.
5. Something about your strengths/weaknesses
What are your strengths? ↪ My strengths are _______, ________, and _________. Example #1. Example #2. Example #3.
What is your biggest weakness? ↪ My biggest weakness is ________. I have worked on ________ (weakness) by _________ (what you did about your weakness). Tip: Think about what actions you did to try to improve yourself. The key is to make it sounds not as negative.
Homework: Think about what skills you have and the skills that are needed to study your degree (e.g. time management, teamwork, communication and self-motivation)

6. Something about your contributions
What can you bring to the university? ↪ I have ___________. (activities you have done before and explain how you made a difference there)
Homework: Make a list of activities you have joined. It could be volunteer work or events you have helped to organize that show your contribution to the school’s community.

These are only the basic ones. Other than these, you should find a partner to practice and have them ask you questions like an actual interview.
A university or college interview provides you to ask questions about the school. In addition, the interview gives the school a chance to learn more about you, your interests, and how you'll be able to contribute to the school.
